Lauryn Rose at 9 years old became officially the youngest author of Afro-Portuguese descent to publish a book in the UK, now 10 she has gone on to achieve much success being nominated for many awards including 'Winner of The Tru Little Hero Awards and has featured on numerous TV and radio broadcasts both here in the UK, Portugal and Cape Verde.

Vanessa Costa, a BA Textile Design graduate, transitioned to digital illustration over five self-taught years. She’s contributed art to music, startups, media, and notably, to “Lauryn That’s Me: the Journey of a Powerful African Girl” by Lauryn Rose Teixeira. In 2020, Vanessa was honored with the Inspiring and Empowering Women Certificate by the APSC (African Portuguese Speaking Countries) organization in London. Passionate about social impact, she supports Afro-Portuguese start-ups, advocates for representation, and immigration rights. Vanessa’s vibrant art aims to spark dialogue, celebrate cultures, and drive societal change, reflecting her commitment to creativity and societal progression.
